A summer of theatre with the National Trust

Live performance of 'The Secret Garden' at Cliveden, Buckinghamshire

This summer at Bradley Manor and Greenway, cared for by the National Trust, the historic settings of their gardens are becoming backdrops for four different outdoor theatre performances. Why not pack a picnic and a blanket to snuggle under for one of these shows?

‘Pride and Prejudice’ at Greenway
Sunday 17 June, 6.30-9pm
Join Heartbreak Theatre Production, the Bennet sisters, and a host of charming, young bachelors (yes, Mr Darcy will be there. No, really, yes, that Mr Darcy), for an evening of comedy, romance, and more than one come-uppance. Heartbreak’s outdoor theatre production of this Austin classic will be held in the Walled Garden of Greenway, the former holiday home of Agatha Christie.

Tickets: adult £14, child £10, family £42, available to book on 01803 842382 or www.nationaltrust.org.uk/greenway.

‘The Tempest’ at Bradley
Tuesday 24 July, 6.30-9pm
Prospero, the usurped Duke of Milan, and his daughter Miranda after being cast out from their home are washed up on a distant, mystical island. Years later his enemies are blown off course towards them. Using his powers of magic he raises a tempest to shipwreck them on the island. After being left to plot his revenge for years he finally has the chance to exact it. But will he? The Lord Chamberlain’s Men will be bringing this classic Shakespeare to life in the garden of a medieval manor house.

Tickets: adult £15, child £10, family £42, available to book on 01803 842382 or www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bradley.

‘Peter Pan’ at Bradley
Monday 30 July, 5.30-8.30pm
Immersion Theatre invite you to soar away to Neverland as they proudly bring their trademark energy to their most magical musical to date, ‘Peter Pan.’ Get ready to think happy thoughts and fly high as the mischievous Peter embarks on an awfully big adventure, introducing the Darling children to the lost boys, the cheeky Tinkerbell, the hilarious Smee, and a host of other exciting characters before facing the most feared villain of them all, the infamous Captain Hook!

Tickets: adult £12, child £10, family £38, available to book on 01803 842382 or www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bradley.

‘The Midnight Gang’ at Greenway
Sunday 12 Aug, 6.30-9pm
Heartbreak invites you to join the grand opening of The Lord Funt Hospital Playground, a spectacular new play area for the convalescent child. Tom and his friends will be there, too, but you might know them best as The Midnight Gang. When everyone else is sweetly sleeping, they gather in the middle of the night in the name of magic, mischief, and memory making. Bring your chairs, blankets, picnics, (perhaps a brolly) and be prepared to be daring at this outdoor adaptation of David Walliams’ bestseller in the Walled Garden of Greenway. Who knows where the night may lead?

Tickets: adult £14, child £10, family £42, available to book on 01803 842382 or www.nationaltrust.org.uk/greenway.

Booking is essential for all of these performances.
